Registered Nurse – Outpatient Wound Center

Provides comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care including goals implementation of treatment evaluation and outcomes for patients. Provides dressings selections and other therapies.

Requirements:

• 0-3 years experience
• Registered Nurse – NH State or Valid Nursing License in another Compact State
• BSN Preferred
• CPR certified within 90 days of hire

Major Responsibilities:

1. Performs all the duties within the scope of practice for Registered Nurse. 
2. Performs wound assessment; reassessment and management for all patients according to established policy.
3. Understands the anatomy and physiology of the dermal system.
4. Utilizes principles of current wound management theory when providing care to patients with acute and chronic wounds.
5. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of wound etiologies.
6. Develops skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown of patients.
7. Demonstrates the ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques in conjunction with wound care.
8. Educates the patient and family with regard to recommended plan of care to include disease process; nutrition; current treatment and prevention as well as long-term management.
9. Serves as liaison between physicians, patients, caregivers and vendors of clinical products.
