Under the direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, the Chief CT Tech oversees all operations of the CT Scanning section. The Chief CT Tech is expected to function with initiative and independent judgment, work with the supervising Radiologist to create protocols, monitor the technical quality of all exams, and serve as the immediate supervisor to all Radiographers in the CT Scanning section.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary training or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years experience
- ARRT Registered
- CPR certified within 90 days of hire
- CT Registered
- NH MIRT
Major Responsibilities:
- Meets all the requirements of a staff CT Radiographer.
- Participates in the development of staffing and organization; operating plans and programs; policies and procedures; work methods and performance standards.
- Schedules and directs the work of the employees under his/her supervisory control: orients and trains; assures observance of policies; procedures; work standards; check for proper work completion; takes corrective action as needed.
- Responsible for all safety regulations in the CT Scanning department.
- Participates in making decisions for equipment upgrades and replacement.
- Recommends promotion; discipline and other administrative actions. Discusses with Department Director any unresolved problems and recommends action in personnel matters as necessary.
- Schedules assignments of personnel to coordinate activities within the CT Scanning section with other departmental activities and services of the Hospital.
- Assists Department Director with the formulation of the departmental budget.
- Conducts performance appraisals for the employees assigned to the CT Scanning section.
- Is responsible for the procurement; storage and routing of supplies.
